Word Flash Reading (RSVP)

A book-reading drill using RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation): the words of your book are streamed into a single fixed spot, one at a time (or in small groups), with a red focal letter (ORP) pinned in place. Because your eyes never move, there are no wasteful jumps or re-reads. Speed builds from a comfortable baseline to x2 and x3, then comprehension questions follow. The red focal point is a support aid for the early single-word stage; on higher levels, where words come in groups, it is removed.

How to Play

  • Fix your eyes on the red focal point in the centre — do not move them.
  • Baseline: words flash one at a time at a comfortable pace.
  • Acceleration (x2.0) then Compression (x3.0): the flashes speed up. Recognise each word at a glance.
  • Answer comprehension questions.

In this exercise, we will work with the book:

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
Lewis Carroll
