Book Reading — Bionic Reading

Bionic reading sets the first letters of every word in bold, so the eye has an anchor in each word. The page turns by itself, first at your usual pace, then about twice and three times faster, and the bold part gets smaller as your level grows. Comprehension questions follow the reading.

How to Play

  • Read a passage of a book with the start of every word in bold. The page turns by itself at your usual pace.
  • Read it again while the pages turn about twice as fast.
  • Read it once more at about three times the speed: catch the bold starts and move on.
  • Answer comprehension questions.

In this exercise, we will work with the book:

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
Lewis Carroll
Example of bionic reading:

The eye catches the bold start of a word and the brain fills in the rest.
